I have a Taig lathe and it is great (as long as it matches the size of parts you want to machine). Looks a bit like a Frankenstein machine, but it is accurate, reliable, and easy to modify. The Sherline lathes also look pretty nice. I don't have one, but from everything I hear they are definitely not "horrible".

There is a set on ebay for 3/8 slots with 5/16 studs, I'm pretty sure the nuts will not fit, and I might be willing to make those, but I'd like to make sure the 5/16 studs will fit. Thank you.
